In the pursuit of making art, to set the creative self free on whatever canvas we take up, experts and self-help “gurus” alike encourage the practice of stillness. But the desire to sabbath—to rest, to carve out space—so often runs counter to the frenetic need/desire/threat to produce! In issue #2 of She Said Notes writer Lesley Finn and Saskatchewan artist Martha Cole share their insights on what it looks like “to sabbath” in the midst of their own creative process.

Creative Tip
